Information
Is medical marijuana legal?
Yes—in the state of California. On November 5, 1996, California passed Proposition 215, and Section 11362.5 was codified and added to the Health & Safety Code. It is also known as the Compassionate Use Act of 1996. The purposes of the Act include, in part: "(A) To ensure that seriously ill Californians have the right to obtain and use marijuana for medical purposes where the medical use is deemed appropriate and has been recommended by a physician who has determined that the person’s health would benefit from the use of marijuana in the treatment of cancer, anorexia, AIDS, chronic pain, spasticity, glaucoma, arthritis, migraine, or any other illness for which marijuana provides relief; and (B) To ensure that patients and their primary caregivers who obtain and use marijuana for medical purposes upon the recommendation of a physician are not subject to criminal prosecution or sanction."
What do I need to do?
Synergy Wellness products are available to members of the collective only. According to current state guidelines, a collective is allowed to grow and produce products for its members in exchange for "donations" to cover the cost of production (equipment, nutrients, electricity, etc.). The products are not sold on the open market. Rather they are only available to collective members on a donation basis. This creates a closed loop whereby we are growing exclusively for our members.
To join, membership is free. You must have a letter of recommendation from your medical doctor. We need a copy of that recommendation for our records. In addition, each new member must fill out an application form. Send us an email for a copy, or download the membership application here. Please sign the application, scan it and send us a copy via email.
Quality?
Quality control is our primary focus. Synergy Wellness products are grown with the highest quality nutrients available. Organic fertilizer and soil are used. Other ingredients include compost tea, bat guano, seaweed and worm casing tea. We pay utmost attention to the quality of the products, both in the growing process as well as while drying, curing and brewing. Products are grown indoors to enable better quality control. Synergy Wellness produces products for a couple of dispensaries in the Bay area.
Indica vs. Sativa?
Cannabis is rich in cannabinoids. There are 40 identified different cannabinoids today including: THC, THCV, CBD, CBN, CBT, CBC & CBG to mention a few. There are there are two basic species or types of cannabis: Indica and Sativa, and over 1,000 different strains within these two species. The healing properties of the cannabis strain lie in the relative ratios and combinations of the cannabinoids.
Indica originated in the Hindu Kush mountains in India and Nepal. Indica has a higher CBD:THC ratio. It produces heavier, body oriented, sleepy or relaxing type of effect. The medicinal qualities include pain management, nausea, muscle spasms, stress and anxiety. Indica strains are a relaxant, effective for appetite stimulation, sleep, muscle spasms and tremors, among other symptoms. It is good as an evening medicine.
Sativa originated in Central and South America. Sativa usually has a lower CBD:THC ratio, producing a cerebral, soaring type of high, more energetic and creative. Often, the THC content is higher in the sativa strains than the Indica strains. The Sativa strains are more of a stimulant, effective in appetite stimulation, relieving depression, migraines, pain and nausea. Best taken in the morning or afternoon.
Hybrids are a combination of sativa and indica strains that have been cross bred with each other to produce a combination of medicinal properties.
Health Effects of Cannabinoids

What about vaporizers?
We encourage the use of vaporizers as they are better for your health. They work by volitizing the THC, CBD, CBN & CBC at temperatures between 375 - 400 degrees F. This is lower than the temperature of combustion, 454 degrees F. This method produces a smoother smoke, releasing the medicinal properties of the cannabinoids, without the harsh toxins.
We recommend:
Pen Vaporizer - We have finally found a vaporizer that we really like. It uses the hash oil extracted from the cannabis. It is very smooth on the throat, vapor does not smell, very discreet and very elegant.
